Academic Office
The Office of Academic Services supports all Providence College students through a combination of academic and personal development programming, including individualized and group academic assistance, tutoring, and specialized workshops and outreach. The Office of Academic Services offers unique attention and support to students with documented disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations and by advocating for equal access to all services and programs offered to members of the campus at large. The Office of Academic Services also provides specialized support to student-athletes in light of the unique time demands, responsibilities, and rules governing participation in intercollegiate athletics.
The Academic Office handles all academic administration for undergraduate students, from admission to completion of degree. The Academic Office also includes the Graduate Office and the Undergraduate Admissions Office. The Academic Office is on the first floor of the Bursary. The entrance is via staircase 7 in North Quad and we are on the first floor, at the end of the corridor.
The Academic Office is home base for undergraduate students in the College of Engineering,Medical and Management. Some of the services provided directly to students in the Academic Office are:
All students are welcome and encouraged to speak with a member of the advising staff in the Academic Office. These advisors can help students explore the many options and opportunities available to College students, and are available by appointment or on a walk-in basis throughout the year.
Advisors in the Academic Office are available to help with general and special academic circumstances from Monday through Friday, by appointment from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on a walk-in basis for quick questions from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The Academic Office also:
- Provides academic guidance to all College undergraduates.
- Processes graduation applications and audit seniors for graduation.
- Coordinates graduation ceremony.
- Generates correspondence such as dean's letters and letters of good academic standing.
- Coordinates peer advising programs.
- Maintains student records.
- Supports faculty in their role as undergraduate advisors.
